Compex and Omega Pharma Quick Step Celebrate Renewed Partnership with a World Title
For the third consecutive year Compex partners up with the Omega Pharma Quick Step professional cycling team.
OPQS is one of the top teams in the UCI world ranking. OPQS is home for riders like Mark Cavendish (2011 world champion, winner of 25 stages in the Tour de France, Milan-San Remo and reigning British Champion), Tony Martin (3 time Time Trial World Champion), Tom Boonen (2005 world champion, green jersey in the Tour de France, 3 times Paris-Roubaix winner and 3 times Tour of Flanders winner), Allessandro Petacchi (2010 Green jersey in Tour de France and Milan – San Remo winner), Rigoberto Uràn (2nd in last year’s Giro d’Italia) and Zdenek Stybar (three time world champion cyclo cross). The team has riders for the big stage races as well as for the classic one day races.
With Zdenek Stybar winning the world cyclo cross title last Sunday in Holland, the team is off to a very good start this year. And it is the best possible way to celebrate the renewed partnership with Compex. Next to Stybar’s world title, they also hold the world title for team Time Trial race and the individual time trial world title of Tony Martin.
Omega Pharma Quick Step is without a doubt one of the most professional and successful teams in cycling. Through the renewed partnership for 2014-2015, Compex is in close contact with the team’s medical staff in general and team Dr. Helge Riepenhof in particular. Dr. Riepenhof uses Compex intensely with the riders after every effort. “Recovery is one of the most important programs for us. But I also use Compex in injury prevention, warm up and even pain relief”, says Riepenhof.
