Trapezius Electrode Placement
In just a few short steps, you’ll be able to reap the benefits of your Compex® device.
How to Place Electrodes for the Trapezius
You’ll need two 2x4 Compex® electrodes and four 2x2 Compex® electrodes for the trapezius (traps). Place the 2x4 electrode vertically at the very end of the trap, right before that boney spot on the shoulder. Next, place one 2x2 electrode at the top of the trap, right where the neck and trap meet. Then place the other 2x2 electrode about 2 to 4 inches directly below, between the shoulder blade and spine.
If you’re using a wired Compex® device, the black snaps of the lead cables are on the two 2x2 electrodes, and the red snaps are on the 2x4 electrodes. The two end snaps on each lead cable should always be on two different electrodes.
If you’re using the Compex® Wireless device, place one end of the wireless pod and attach it to the electrode. Twist the pod to tighten if there is any slack in the wireless cable.
