A woman using the Compex FIT 3.0 muscle stimulator to get firmer arms

A lack of muscle tone occurs when the muscles are not adequately or frequently engaged. This is often the case in the 21st century unless regular exercise makes up for our sedentary lifestyles. A common goal for many is to get firmer arms. Many women in particular dread the much feared "bat-wings" during the summer season and the accompanying short sleeves that come with it.

The Compex FIT range electrostimulators offer a program specifically designed to firm the bicep and tricep muscles, in short this program will tone your arms. It's possible to perform these sessions all-in-one thanks to the four channels of stimulation our devices provide. This type of training does not increase muscle volume at all because the muscle contractions produced are not sufficient. The contractions are just powerful enough to restore good muscle tone, which helps prevent the unsightly sagging of the arms.

How to get Firmer Arms with Compex Electrostimulation

Program: Firm your Arms

Session frequency: 3 sessions per week for 6 weeks. Consistency is key, so at least 3 sessions per week for 6 weeks is the minimum dose needed to achieve truly great results and tone your arms! Note that you can work multiple muscle groups in the same day. For example: abs, thighs, arms, it depends on the time and goals that you have. But we recommend not to work the same muscle group several times in the same day.

Exercise #1: Tricep Dips

Exercise #2: Bicep Curls

Intensity adjustment: Induce strong contractions involving as many muscle fibers as possible.

It's important to regularly increase the intensity to the highest you can bear for firmer arms. This is crucial because the intensity directly determines the percentage of muscle fibers you engage in a workout. Since only those that work progress, you should always try to engage as many as possible.

Because everyone gets accustomed to this technique, you must particularly always aim to gradually increase the intensities throughout each session (for example, every 4 to 5 contraction cycles), as well as from one session to the next. A good approach is to set a goal for each session to exceed the intensity level reached in the previous session! Therefore, you should quickly reach an intensity/energy level of at least 100. Then aim to approach a level of about 250, and so on to tone your arms.

Only increase during the contraction phase to tone your arms optimially. During the rest phase, the intensities are halved, and you don't need to increase. During the warm-up and recovery phase: increase until you achieve well-pronounced muscle contractions that remain comfortable. On the SP 8.0, the mi-AUTORANGE function will automatically adjust the intensity. Once the intensity has been found, it will display "Optimal intensity level found".
