Combining Compex’s science-backed solutions with one of the most successful teams in the Women’s Super League era, the collaboration will integrate advanced recovery tools into the club’s daily performance environment. As Chelsea Women continue to build on their domestic dominance and European ambitions, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation, athlete care, and maintaining the highest standards in elite women’s football.

Chelsea FC Women: Shaping Women's Football History

Chelsea FC Women (CFCW) is the most successful English team in the Women’s Super League era, based in the heart of London.

In the 2024/25 season, CFCW won an eighth domestic league title and a sixth in a row. That trophy triumph was part of a domestic Treble under head coach Sonia Bompastor that also included the Women’s League Cup and Women’s FA Cup, and an unbeaten record that season.

The same Treble had been achieved four seasons earlier and in five other campaigns, two of the trophies were lifted, including in 2015 when the first Women’s FA Cup held at Wembley was won by the Blues, quickly followed by the club’s first Women’s Super League title. Emma Hayes was the coach in charge for this period of sustained high achievement and was one of the most successful managers in the women’s game.

Chelsea Women also regularly qualify for the Women’s Champions League and reached the final in 2021, as well as playing in the semi-finals in five more seasons.

The team currently play most of their home games at Kingsmeadow on the south-west edge of London. From the 2026/27 season, all Barclays Women’s Super League matches will be played at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea Women, which has previously had the name Chelsea Ladies, became a fully financed part of Chelsea Football Club in 2005 having been associated with the club prior to then. The first side adopting the Chelsea name and the kit of the men’s team was formed shortly after the lifting of the Football Association’s ban on the female game in the early 1970s, and it was followed by a relaunched Chelsea Ladies more closely affiliated to the club in 1992.

Progress post-2005 ensured Chelsea became founder members of the Women’s Super League and the team played in the competition’s first-ever game in 2011.

Since then, Chelsea players have represented a variety of countries on the international stage, including supplying several of England’s successful Lionesses sides. CFCW has an academy which has developed players who have broken through for club and country. In common with the first team, the academy is based at Chelsea Football Club’s main training centre at Cobham.

In 2024, CFCW was repositioned to sit alongside, rather than beneath, Chelsea FC’s men’s team, with dedicated resources, management and commercial leadership, focused solely on the growth and success of the women’s team.
